Chinese Supercar Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Revealed With 1548 Horsepower

Xiaomi has raised the bar once again, showcasing a new "Ultra" Prototype version of the SU7 that surpasses the capabilities of the SU7 Max. This new model boasts extraordinary hypercar performance, making it a significant leap from its predecessor. The SU7 Ultra is equipped with over twice the horsepower of the Max version, delivering an astonishing 1,548 horsepower. This incredible power is generated by three motors – two of Xiaomi's newly introduced and intriguingly named V8s motors, and one V6s motor, all of which are electric despite their nomenclature. With such immense power, the SU7 Ultra accelerates from 0 to 62 miles per hour in a mere 1.97 seconds and from 0 to 124 miles per hour in just 5.96 seconds. It achieves a top speed of 217 miles per hour. Xiaomi claims that the motors provide up to 0.6G of regenerative braking force, and with the physical brakes, it can achieve up to 2.36G. This braking system allows the car to decelerate from 62 miles per hour to a complete stop in only 25 meters. Weighing in at 4,188 pounds, the SU7 Ultra is not particularly light but is still relatively lightweight compared to many other hyper-sports cars on the market. All body panels are constructed from carbon fiber to reduce weight, though this likely adds to the vehicle's overall cost. The Ultra model is both wider and longer than the SU7 Max, featuring modified body panels designed for enhanced aerodynamic and cooling performance. A significant rear wing generates 4,728 pounds of downforce. The exact size of the battery remains unknown, but it utilizes CATL’s new Qilin II battery, which can charge at a C-rate of 5.2. This allows the battery to go from zero to full charge in just 12 minutes, provided it is connected to a sufficiently powerful 897-volt charger. Remarkably, the battery can deliver over 1,072 horsepower even at 20% state of charge, suggesting that the SU7 Ultra can handle extended track sessions.
