Prof. Rao who began the conceptualisation and implementation of HRD Audit about three decades ago, highlights the difference between HR and HRD audit. HR audit is evaluation of all legal compliance’s (including IR and ER), HR Administration ( earlier called as personnel management) and HRD (competence, commitment and culture building). HRD is the soul of HR and it’s audit deals with evaluation and audit of the value add of systems, competencies, culture and impact in terms of tangibles and intangibles.
