For anyone who might be
For anyone who might be confused, the trick is to unbox a Crystal Gem, then upgrade it to level 25, then loot collect it for the Gem Spark.
You'll spend around 10-15k Gem Dust, but the Gem Spark is worth 30k Gem Dust, so it's a net benefit.
It will slowly dip into your flux to upgrade gems though, so keep in mind this method doesn't work for early-game.
