How to attach a BALLOON for live bait fishing

A very quick and easy
A very quick and easy way to attach a balloon.
First thing to do is get a biodegradable balloon. Next is to get the rod you plan on using and tie a leader to it then tie on the hook set up you plan on using. Now you need to know on what depth you want your bait set! Say I want my bait set at 5 metres so I measure 5 metres from the hook and blow the balloon up to around half size then make a small loop in the line (watch Video). Now put the small loop through the knot on the balloon, pull out other side about 6 inches. Thats it rig done deploy bait.
How this works is that when a fish gets hooked and starts swimming away the small loop in the balloon pulls through, the ballon floats away and it is just you against the fish.
Why use balloon floats.
Fishing with biodegradable balloons really has its advantages when fishing from the shore. The balloon can take your live or dead baits out a long way when the weather and tides are right. If you are balloon fishing off a Jetty, beach or rocky headland and have an offshore wind this will really help to get your bait a long way out. If you are balloon fishing river, bay entrances use the tide to take your bait out.
Another vantage to this setup.
You can set the bait to any depth you like. If you are using live baits just remember to throw the live bait out as far as possible. And hope the wind or tide drags it away from the land. Live baits will always try to swim back to shallow water or cover for safety.
