To help round out my
To help round out my 18th century "colonial bushcraft" kit, I made my own cocked hat (also called a tricorn hat) from a wide-brimmed ladies hat that is suddenly fashionable this season.
My simple version of a cocked hat uses three ingredients:
1. A cheap, wide-brimmed hat
2. A hole punch - you can use an awl, a nail or ice pick
3. Some leather lacing - you can use shoe laces or ribbon instead.
