In this video, I look at 4 companies that make equipment to carry camera gear.  This is a comparison of those systems and would be useful for anyone that hikes with a long lens or needs a way to carry a second setup in the field.  This video does not include backpacks, though it is certainly an option.  These systems generally allow for much faster access than backpacks which is why I chose to focus on them for now.
