Jamie Barton performing "Ja, Gretelchen... Hurr, hopp hopp!" from Engelbert Humperdinck's opera Hänsel und Gretel during the final of the 2013 Cardiff Singer Of The World competition.
The US-American mezzo-soprano went on to win both the Main Prize and the Song Prize that year, only the second contestant to accomplish this feat.
Jamie Barton has played various roles at Bavarian State Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Munich Opera Festival, Teatro Real Madrid, Royal Opera House among many others, and has been equally sought-after as a concert soloist, including showstopping performances at The Night of the Proms and Carnegie Hall.
Off-stage she uses her voice to advocate for body positivity, social justice issues, and LGBTQ+ rights.
