The main purpose of this test is I don't really like having mixed speakers in cabs, and I don't really have space for two cabs so I am aiming to cull down to just the Jubilee cab. Whilst speaker blending is of course very useful, this can always be done using IRs for the 2nd speaker (by recording a DI signal from an inline load box.)

Whilst this isn't the most in depth comparison (only one riff, not in a mix, no different genres / guitars used etc), I think it illustrates enough; and further illustrates to me that focusing on the minutiae of gear aka 'rabbit-holing' often really yields very minor results!

To my ears, the Greenback sounds a lot more different to the Vintage 30 than it does to the Marshall G12 in this clip.

I do think the bottom speakers sound noticeably worse, as mentioned in the intro.

A brief note on different speaker impedances: There are numerous examples on YouTube of 8 ohm vs 16 ohm speakers; personally I have observed that there's simply more variance within a specific impedance (due to production factors) than between the two, i.e you can get a 'bright' 8 ohm and a 'bright' 16 ohm greenback, without the extra brightness necessarily being attributed to the impedance, although in general I think the 16 ohms have a tough more presence, and I prefer 8 ohm Vintage 30s usually, but I have heard great sounding cabs made up of either one so it really can be luck of the draw.
