Fans Disagree on John Stamos and Lori Loughlin's Nostalgic Reunion
The classic "Full House" actors John Stamos and Lori Loughlin reunited for a dance video, bringing a wave of nostalgia to the show's fans. A lighthearted TikTok video with the two of them dancing to "Islands in the Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton was both well-received and controversial.
Stamos and Loughlin showed off their dancing skills in the video, which went viral on TikTok and Instagram, and even some of their celebrity pals sent them compliments. Performers Candace Cameron Bure and Diana Jenkins called it "cute," while Sasha Farber, a veteran on Dancing With the Stars, called it "epic."
Many fans were happy at the reunion since it brought back good memories, but some were upset at Stamos for working with Loughlin. Given Loughlin's role in the college admissions scam that resulted in her incarceration, several were disappointed.
"Her dealings... hurt many," one fan said in an Instagram comment, expressing confusion over how Stamos could maintain a friendship with Loughlin in light of her "outrageous" and "wrong" behavior. A second supporter harshly disapproved, declaring, "We are NOT supporting her."
But Stamos has been there for Loughlin every step of the way during her legal battle. His new biography, "If You Would Have Told Me," details his chats with Loughlin behind closed doors prior to and throughout the controversy. Fans of the cherished comedy were able to reminisce with the reunion video, despite the polarizing comments.
May 2020 saw Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli's guilty plea to charges stemming from their daughters' bribes to get into USC as pretend rowing recruiters. In 2020 and 2021, respectively, they were freed from prison after finishing their sentences.
