Relays are electronic switches that allow a low voltage output from a Raspberry Pi or an Arduino control a much more powerful circuit - like a 12V LED strip, a 24V motor, or even your home 240V AC mains supply.

In this video, I'll teach you about the different sort of relays available, the input and output wiring connections, how to use opto-isolation, and show you some typical circuit diagrams that you might use in a home automation of room escape electronic puzzle design.
