Be specific about the feedback they want to give and about why they want to give it
Explore the situation from the other persons perspective
Agree on the facts. What is actually happening and why? Focus on the facts, not on the person
Be courteous and respectful. People are more likely to improve if they feel good about themselves
Accept counter-feedback. Team members wont focus on performance issues until they have addressed criticism directed at them.
