Process Hole is a brand new toolpath allowing users to apply an existing process to solid hole features on a part model in Mill or Router toolpaths. This toolpath allows an operations library to store and manage all of the parameters of the multiple toolpaths being created to enforce best practices and save programmer time.  Watch the video to see how holes are selected and utilized within the Process Hole approach.

Processes are stored and organized in operations libraries and can consist of several operations such as spot drilling, peck drilling, and reaming. These libraries are simply separate Mastercam files within which each toolpath group is considered a Process. The processes from the operations library are matched up to the solid hole definitions that were either created using Mastercam Design or recognized using the Find Holes operation.

Tool type and number, feeds and speeds, and operation order are all controlled by the Operations Library, while geometry selection and linking parameters are determined within the Process Hole operation as collected by the selected solid hole definitions. Both 3 and 5 axis hole operations are supported. Process operations can be individually edited to adjust parameters in the local file without affecting the Operations Library. After creating a Process Hole operation, you can right-click in the Toolpaths Manager, the Process Hole panel and Explode hole operation into its component operations and work with them like any other toolpath.
