Corny Keg Floating Dip Tube, Major Issue

Using a recently purchased Fermzilla fermenter and starting the transfer of beer to my keg I noticed that the Kegland floating dip tube was going to hit the yeast cake and leave up to 2" (5cm)worth of beer behind which could easily been about 1 gallon (3.87 Liters) of wasted beer without pulling in a lot of yeast. The only solution to reducing this was to tip the all rounder around but with a room temp fermented yeast cake it wasn't real solid so this is problematic as it can easily disturb the yeast cake. The Torpedo keg buoy floating dip tube has this same major problem in design, in my opinion. I considered using my transfer pump to move the remaining beer but instead I swapped out the one from Kegland with a FLOTit. The FLOTit floating dip tube was able to help transfer all but about 1 ounce or a 1/8th of a cup of beer. Based on that I experience I will only be using FLOTit devices in my kegs and pressure fermenters from now on.

Please keep in mind a lot of people sell the floating dip tubes on different websites that may not be produced by Kegland or Torpedo but appear to have the same issue. The issue requires you to play with it to capture as much of your beer as possible but there is a high chance of capturing some of your yeast unless you purchase Keglands new add-on filter which the filter does help a bit but the best is that it hits the yeast cake (trub) forcing the tip in a more upward direction.

I can only imagine how many pints the Torpedo or Kegland's floating dip tubes might be leaving behind in a corny keg!
