This is a nifty piece of magnetite from Utah. But how is magnetitr different from hematite? Both are iron minerals but it all comes down to their chemical formula, crystalline structure, and the fact that hematite is not inherently magnetic. I appreciate this particular piece because it reminds me of Stargate SG1.
