Fleetwood Mac named for the rhythm section of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie was a blues based band that slowly approached pop music by changing guitarists several time. After losing their guitarists, they invited Bob Welch who brought along songs like "Hypnotized" and "Sentimental Woman" and gave them a gentler sleeker sound than before. Written and sung by Welch it was recorded for the Mac's 1973 "Mystery To Me" it was issued as the B side of the promoted single "For Your Love". The dj's flipped the song and it became the albums strongest track. Mellow but insistent yet hypnotizing throughout, it is a perfect expression of that emotion. Welch states that he wrote the song with Benifold Mansion in England in mind, a place he described as "rather spooky and strange even in the summer time." The fabulous Pointer Sisters did a cover in 1978 that added another dimension to it.
