Earthbound - Smiles and Tears | Game & Sound Cover

December is the time of the year when I tend to reflect and reminisce the most, so Smiles and Tears was an immediate choice for this month's cover. This was actually arranged last year but I never managed to publish it on the channel, so I decided to remaster it and finally make a video!

Longtime viewers will remember I made an arrangement of this song as a tribute to Nintendo's late president, Satoru Iwata. A lot of time passed since then, and I thought I'd make a new arrangement of this classic track, in line with my current sensibilities. You'll find a lot of inspiration from 60s and 70s music!

I hope the themes of growing up, friendship and bittersweet nostalgia will shine through the vintage lens I've used to make this arrangement.
