Many pianists, myself included, started off playing classical music but then later on discovered an interest in Jazz and Blues. Jazz and Blues Piano are very different from Classical Piano. So in this lesson I explain the key differences between Classical Music and Jazz / Blues.

In this series of Piano Tutorials I hope to run through the basics of Jazz theory and how to play and think about Jazz.

The key differences are:
- The type of notation (chords and melody rather than notes)
- Jazz has more harmonically complex chords (chord extensions, alterations, substitutions)
- Jazz has more complex chord progressions
- Jazz has improvisation (i.e. No wrong notes!)
