Boerenpsalm - Full Movie

Peasant Psalm is the adaptation of the rural novel Boerenpsalm by Felix Timmermans. It’s a story about unshakeable faith. Wortel, a farmer, hasn’t had much luck in his life. His first child died, his daughter is blind and after the suicide of his son Fons, his first wife Fien died from a broken heart. His second wife drowned. We follow the terrible struggles of a man who, despite all this misfortune, fights back with a remarkable lust for life. He spends his moments of stillness carving a wooden crucifix, the symbol of his unshakeable faith and support in the face of his endless suffering.
