Associate Health Minister Casey Costello slashed tax on heated tobacco products in half, despite warnings from Treasury it would play directly into the hands and profits of the tobacco industry.
The minister backs HTPs as a tool to meet Smokefree 2025 and says she has independent advice to prove it except she’s not willing to reveal where that advice comes from.
