Sources of Water
Rain is the main source of water on earth.
The rain water gets collected in oceans, rivers, lakes, ponds and other waterbodies.
Other sources of water are the melting of glaciers and snow-capped mountains.
Some rain water seeps into the ground. This is called groundwater. We can draw out this groundwater either by digging wells or through handpumps.
At home, we get water through taps. We should always boil or filter the water before drinking.
In our homes, water is stored in containers such as drums, tanks, earthen pots, buckets and bottles.
