A short 4 minute video which explains the features and operation of the Precision Planting Seeder Force system with row by row sensing and adjustment. We conducted 2 replicated trials during the fall of 2018, where we no-tilled winter wheat into corn stalks with 2 x John Deere 1560 no-till drills. Both were modified with Needham Ag parts and they each had 1200 lb of rear ballast and a half pro-box of seed in each drill.
Both trials were replicated and we plan to compare the emergence, stand counts, plus yield and quality at harvest.
Within the trials, both drills were pulled with the same Maxxum 125 tractor and we used a PTO pump, external hydraulic tank and an oil cooler with electric fan. This was because we were concerned the open-center hydraulic system on this tractor was not sufficient to provide the flow or heat dissipation required by the seeder force system.
