It dates back to the 19th century. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Today, it boasts bright yellow French colonial architecture, a picturesque waterfront promenade, pedestrian-friendly streets and, above all, hundreds of colorful lanterns that light up the city every evening.
