In this final part Swami Mukundananda solves the "Why Bad Things Happen to Good People" quandary by explaining in detail in the Vedic philosophy of Law of Karma in relation with destiny, free will, past life, reincarnations and the cycle of birth & death.
3 Kinds of Karma-
Sanchita Karma
Prarabhdha Karma
Kriyamana Karma
Everyone is aware of the eternal Law of Karma:
As you sow so shall you reap. But there's more to it. Swamiji explains the 3 kinds of Karma. We have an account of endless Karma from endless past life times. This accumulated Karma of past life times is called Sanchita Karma. Only
God keeps an account of our Karma from endless life times.
From our Sanchita Karma in every birth God gives us portion of our Karma to bear, which becomes our 'Destiny' or the Prarabhdha Karma. So our destiny is past life karma. We make our own karma.
But apart from the Prarabhdha Karma we have a free will at every instance in life. This free will to act is our Kriyamana Karma. Swami Mukundananda explains the Law of Karma by comparing it with a game of cards.
When we play cards, we have to play with the cards that are dealt to us. How we play is upon us. Bad player can lose with best cards, good player may win with a bad hand. Similarly everyone is born with a given Prarabhdha Karma 'destiny', but our Kriyamana Karma is not fixed. At every instance we have a free will and with it we can change the course of our life.
However we are under the bonds of endless Karma and hence stuck in the continuous cycle of birth and death. So how to exhaust our Sanchit Karma and break this cycle of reincarnation.
Answer to this question was given by Lord Shri Krishna in Gita. It is only when we surrender to God completely, through his grace all our Karmas are burnt and we are liberated forever.
So there are no bad things happening in this world. All we need to do is change our attitude to see the hidden good in everything, with our focus on reaching complete surrender to God.
