"Испытание чистой водородной бомбы мощностью 50 млн тонн" (Test of a clean hydrogen bomb with a yield of 50 megatons) This video was declassified by the Russian governemnt and released by ROSATOM. The AN602 Tsar Bomb (Царь-бо́мба), (code name: Ivan or Vanya), was a hydrogen gravity bomb - the most powerful nuclear weapon ever tested. Tsar Bomba was developed by the USSR's Academy of Sciences under Igor Kurchatov, Yulii Khariton, Andrei Sakharov, Viktor Adamsky, Yuri Babayev, Yuri Smirnov, Yuri Trutnev, and Yakov Zel'dovich. Tested on 30 October 1961, the scientific result of the test was the experimental verification of calculation principles and multi-stage thermonuclear charges. The bomb was dropped by parachute from a Tu-95V aircraft, and detonated autonomously 4,000 metres above the Sukhoy Nos ("Dry Nose") cape of Severny Island, Novaya Zemlya. Three of these giants were built - one was live tested. The bomb, weighing 27 tonnes, was too large for the Tu-95 bomber, so the majority of the weapon sticks out below the aircraft bomb bay. Thermonuclear yield: 50–58 megatonnes.
