The initial checkout of an SMC (Shell Manufacturing Company) 6" 2-speed desk/personal fan model TF-6. It is likely a product of the late 1990s. The unit is extremely high hours and the bearings are starting to show considerable signs of wear, resulting in very noisy operation due to the excessive play. I'm surprised it's worn down as much as it has, the shaft size is very large for a fan this size.
These were nice fans. Very powerful and quiet. Having grown up with the SMC TH-12, I've always taken a liking to SMC fans.
