BAGLAMA / SAZ (long-necked): The most commonly used string folk instrument in Turkey, the bağlama has seven strings divided into courses of two, two and three. It can be tuned in various ways and takes different names according to region and size; mine (a six-string) is tuned G2-G3, D3-D3, A2-A3. Each string’s octave is divided into 15 frets, providing some interesting (and stylistically characteristic) microtonal options. Once I figured out where to get strings (and where to put them + how to "tie them off"!). I wrote this fun jam:

Song: "A Llama Ate My Baglama"
