If you've been learning English for a while, you've probably heard other teachers talk about the "light L" and the "dark L". To me, this concept is very confusing and not very useful. Instead, just like we have a consonant "R" and a vowel "ER", we also have a consonant "L" (aka the "full-L") and a vowel "L" (aka the "half-L"). And it really is an actual vowel sound, which you'll learn more about in this American English Pronunciation and Ear Training lesson from English Hacks!
