Blending Short 'o' CVC Words | Phonemic Awareness | Listening Skills | Phonics | Spelling | Rhyming

Blending is the process of combining individual sounds in words to read them as a whole. When working with CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words with the short "o" sound, you can have students practice blending by saying each sound separately, then saying them together. For example, for the word "dog", the student would say /d/ /o/ /g/ and then blend them together to say "dog". This can help students learn to read words by recognizing the individual sounds and blending them together to form the word.
