Learn how to make sweet homemade Malasadas! Similar to Leonard’s Bakery, these Malasadas will taste so delicious that you will keep coming back for more. Malasadas are basically Portuguese donuts fried golden brown and covered in sugar. In this version I’ll be filling these malasadas with the haupia pudding that I covered in a previous video. Make these to satisfy your sugar cravings cuz you will not regret it!
*EDIT:
The edit for this video where the sugar was added to the yeast mixture was missing. Add in 2 tbsp of sugar to the yeast mixture. E kala mai! Sorry!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup whole milk
1 ½  tsp  dry yeast
2 tbsp sugar
2 ¾ cup bread flour
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/3 cup sugar, plus more for coating the malasadas
2 eggs
1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Oil
Haupia filling
