Steering is exactly what you'd
Steering is exactly what you'd expect from Hyundai's electric-assist steering rack. No road feel at all. The steering wheel is hard and not comfortable in the hands. Feels like a typical rental car.
Handling is good enough for city and highway driving. The Tucson is perfectly composed over rough roads. No sport driving recommended.
POWERTRAIN is the main disappointment. 1.6-L isn't enough with the turbo. They should have gone with the 2.0-L turbo or a V6. The 1.6-L makes less than 200HP. You need no less than 300 HP to move the AWD mass.
Your options are a 164-horsepower, 2.0-liter and an optional 175-horsepower, turbocharged 1.6-liter. The base engine is paired with a six-speed automatic, while the turbocharged engine gets the seven-speed DCT.
The BASE SE starts at $23,000 and the fully equipped "Limited" is $35,500 (give or take options).
