The 12th World Choir Games -- the world's largest international choir competition --kicked off on Monday in South Korea's east coast city of Gangneung.
Under the theme 'Peace and Prosperity for All', around 8-thousand participants from 3-hundred-24 choirs representing over 30 countries will take part this year.
The event, which was postponed for a year due to COVID-19, will run until July 13th.
Often referred to as the Choir Olympics, the World Choir Games has been held every two years since its inauguration in 2000.
This marks the second time for Korea to host the Games, after the first one in Busan back in 2002.
