Coaster New SC-44 Charger Locomotive Test Trains

In the Fall of 2020, San Diego's North County Transit District received several new SC-44 Charger locomotives for Coaster commuter train service. These locomotives will replace the five F40PHM-2C units in early 2021. On the weekend of October 3rd and 4th, NCTD tested out two of these locomotives on short test trains in between Oceanside and San Onofre. Let’s watch locomotive 5002 in operation on several test trips in between Oceanside and Las Pulgas Road.
