Premier yarns, and myself want to say We are all in this together!
And in a joint effort, we want you to join in a new crochet along.
To give us some sense of togetherness, and unity.
Premier asked me to make this video, and pattern, and show you all how to make my infamous Rainbow bathmat.
Did you know Rainbows are a sign of endurance through dark times. The rainbow is a sign that the sun will return after the storm. That everything is going to be OK. So keep your heads up, and your hope high. Its all going to be ok. I hope you will join me in making this rainbow rug, in a signal of unity to us all. That we are in this together, and we are all going to be ok.
Below you will find the pattern.
Rainbow bathmat
11.5 mm hook
Start with a magic ring. (or a chain 4 ring)
There are several sizes and variations for this pattern. You can make it as small or as large as you want it.
My rug has 6 colors, but you can also change it up to be whatever or however many colors. You can do this all in one color or make a rainbow of your own making. Mixing solids, and marls. I will also include a pattern for just making a circle mat, instead of a half circle shape. I want you to make this mat your own. Like with all my patterns, I want you to fully express yourself and make it your own. I will list the colors as color 1, color 2, ect. I want you to fill in the blank, and make color 1, your choice.
Start each row with your chain 3/dc, then repeat whatever is in the parenthesis.
Start with color 1
1) 7 Sc in the magic ring 2) 2 DC in the next 5 sc, chain 3 turn your work. (the chain 3 counts as a dc) 3) Dc in the same stitch as the chain 3, (Dc, 2 dc in one, dc) ch 3 turn
Each row will start with your chain 3 and dc in the same stitch. This counts as 2 dc in one. The repeat pattern will be like your crocheting in the round. So it will start with your “2dc” (ch3,dc in one) and then you will have an increasing amount of dc, and then 2 dc in one.
4) Dc in the same stitch as the chain 3, (2Dc, 2 dc in one, 2dc) ch 3 turn 5) Dc in the same stitch as the chain 3, (3Dc, 2 dc in one, 3dc) ch 3 turn 6) Dc in the same stitch as the chain 3, (4Dc, 2 dc in one, 4dc) ch 3 turn 7) Dc in the same stitch as the chain 3, (5Dc, 2 dc in one, 5dc) ch 3 turn 8) Dc in the same stitch as the chain 3, (6Dc, 2 dc in one, 6dc) ch 3 turn 9) Dc in the same stitch as the chain 3, (7Dc, 2 dc in one, 7dc) ch 3 turn 10) Dc in the same stitch as the chain 3, (8Dc, 2 dc in one, 8dc) ch 3 turn
