This time, we look at the development and service history of the Italian Moschetto Automatico Beretta Modello 1938 (aka Beretta Automatic Musket Model 38). This submachinegun series was used extensively during and after WWII and was really the last of the first generation of SMGs.
We discuss the original MAB M38, the Army's M38A, the wartime simplified M38/42, and finally the late production M38/44 variant.
Also, we take a look at a civilian legal, semi-auto M38-SA Carbine and disassemble it to show you how it functions.
