"Friends", as its owners called them, gave it to her for a birthday, without asking if the person even wanted such a gift. They kept and fed the scops owl according to the recommendations of the seller, who said that she would be fine in a parrot cage and the best food is chicken. As a result, the owl damaged its feathers and tail from the bars of the cage and received harmful food for several months.
Having learned about me and our activities, the owner handed over the bird for possible rehabilitation and release into nature.
Angry, and this is a male, and not female, will be released into the wild with the rest of the female group when he moults the damaged plumage.
Yt is doing well; she is still in the “Sirin”, with other scops owls.
