In today’s podcast, we have someone who has evolved from being one of the most impactful child actors to an underrated king of comedy, from being a vital character in the Golmaal franchise to now directing his own comedy film, Madgaon Express, Kunal Kemmu.
In a candid conversation with our host Sadhika Sehgal, Kunal talks about his trip to Australia, how people thought he had permanently shifted there and why he likes the country so much. He talks about his first international trip and what he was feeling throughout his journey and shooting outside the country for the first time for his movie, Kalyug.
He also talks about his boy's trip with industry friends like Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter and opens up about the shenanigans that happen on these trips, biking adventures and who ultimately pays the bill! He fondly recalls his college days, who his close friends are and some funny anecdotes from celebrating birthdays and giving treats.
With a “loaded question” Kunal describes male friendships as complex and meaningful bonds with people who know him well, adding they might not be the closest of the friends he has had but yet these bonds are the deepest. He also talks about how he actually spends time with his friends and how friendships are a real investment in life.
When asked “what is the meaning of life”, Kunal describes his own struggles through life and how he is one of the most relatable personalities from the industry because of his attitude towards life and hardships. Kunal also opens up about his biggest fear in our episode, how he is afraid of losing a part of him that he holds on so dearly and how he feels his talent is still underutilized in the industry.
He also talks about how thankful he is about the opportunities he has had and what he is looking forward to doing in the coming years.
