The Comancheros (1961) was directed by old Warner Bros. stalwart Michael Curtiz and features John Wayne as a Texas Ranger who forms an uneasy alliance with Stuart Whitman's riverboat gambler as they trail a Confederate renegade (Nehemiah Persoff), who is intent on building an empire for himself in Mexico with the aid of heavily armed Indians.This features brilliant photography by William H. Clothier and a signature music score by Elmer Bernstein.
