Scream is the first installment of the Scream franchise. It is a slasher horror movie directed by Wes Craven in 1996 and stars Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Rose McGowan, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Jamie Kennedy, Henry Winkler, and Drew Barrymore. The movie is about a masked knife maniac stalks high-school students in middle-class suburbia. Craven is happy to provide both tension and self-parody as the body count mounts - but the victims aren't always the ones you'd expect.

The film grossed 6M in its opening weekend and 103M domestically. For a worldwide total of 173M against a budget of 14M. It also has a 81% score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 89 reviews. While the IMDb has a score of 7.4/10.

My Review: Even as the sequels get bigger and bigger, the quality of this first one will stand the test of time. 9.3/10.
