Part 1/1 of Nod 09: Core Of The Problem in my C&C Tiberian Sun: Firestorm - Hard walkthrough.

This level really isn't hard if you know how CABAL attacks and how to stop said attack. After you've cleared up the Cyborgs at the start deploy your MCV near the bridge, I recommend you skip to later in the video to look at how I set my base up, because it's important that you cloak all of it.

Across the bridge there is plenty of Tiberium to harvest, so send a few Harvesters over there, and a couple near your base. For early defense 8-10 Elite Cadres backed up by a handful of Rocket Soldiers will deal with any Cyborgs.  As always you want Artillery, but this time spread them out because of Cluster Missiles. Begin your tech up operation, you'll want  to get some Drones out after you've got a few Artillery, and whilst tecching up get a couple of Obelisks and cloak your base.

Scout the south east corner out with the Drones, revealing a Mobile War Factory in the middle of the SW and SE corners and the Missile Silos in the SE corner itself. Flame Tanks will take of this.

If your base is cloaked, the only attack you're likely to see is Cyborgs and MLRS. The MLRS are being produce dfrom the Mobile War Factory, so take that out and the Cyborgs are being produced by the base just east of your own. The first time you approach it a horde of Cyborgs will pop out of Sub APCs and attack your base, EMP them when in range of your Tick Tanks, Obelisks and Artillery. EMP that base and take it out with Tick Tanks and use your Artillery to destroy the temporarily disabled Juggernaughts. You should have your own Cluster Missile by now too, so that will help.

You've now pretty much finished the level, I'll discuss the way I take first, and then the 'legitimate' way of capturing the 3 stations.

For the short way of doing this level. Produce a tonne of Banshees, I think somewhere along the 15-20 mark. 8-10 Flame Tanks to take out the NE Power Plants surrounded by the Firewall (they can shoot over it) and a ready Cluster Missile. Once the power shuts down send your Flame Tanks, Banshees and the Cluster Missile after the Core for a quick kill. If you want to take out the Core Defender, there are two ways, 10 or so Tick Tanks backed up by your Artillery Obelisks and those Banshees will do the trick. The other is to blow up a bridge with the Defender on it. This is relatively easy to achieve, as if you see the Harvesters are the only uncloaked units, he'll cross both bridges to your base. A Cluster Missile will OHKO the bridge drowning him, or sustained fire from your Artillery and Tick Tanks will more than do. If you want the missile to hit, you'll only need about 5 Tanks to soak up fire.


Now for the 'real' way to do this level.

If you want to do it the real way, don't bother with quite so many Banshees or Flame Tanks yet. 6 Banshees would do for now. If you have enough money for at least 10 Tick Tanks, 6 Artillery, a sensor, repair vehicles and Engineers if you want, head for the NW. Before you attack it, send a few Attack Cycles to scout out the Airfields and bomb them with your Cluster Missile, or send a few Flame Tanks. Then finish the base off/capture what you need.
You've basically completed the level now.

If you need more money for the final pushes, I suggest capturing the base by where you destroyed the Mobile War Factory. If not, don't bother. All you'll need is what I said in my previous strategy.

So to capturing the 3 control stations. Mop up the SE Cyborg Reapers with Banshees or Flame Tanks and capture this relay first. The NW one has mainly infantry, so Flame Tanks will deal with this one, or a nice sized group of Elite Cadre. The middle one shold be left for last, because the weeds will start to grow as you destroy the wall to send an Engineer in.

After that, just follow the methods I previously said, or before you destroy the wall for the 3rd, mop up the map and give the Defender a huge army of your choice to contend with.

The final tip is save often, if you haven't done this level before, save after every step. Outlined basically as, set up base, take out missile silos, take out close base, preparing for final assault (or each base) final assault.
