Ps5 vs Xbox series X 6 month later
Its been 6 months since i got both the Xbox series X and PS5
I been playing both of them for hundreds of hours and today i wanted to give you my opinion.
Now i did a video 1 month after owning both and at the time i favored the ps5 for feeling more next gen, but i would say my opinion has changed a little over time so lets get into it
Hardware
design wise, both consoles look good, the PS5 is big and looks more futuristic, but build quality wise the Xbox feels more seek and solidly built.
I have a detailed breakdown of both consoles in my review of each so go check that out.
The PS5 has the more feature rich controller with adaptive triggers, 5 axis motion control, 3d rumble and touch pad, but the battery life sucks… i get maybe 7-8 hours with headphones plugged in.
The xbox controller is more comfortable to use for longer play sessions with and gets about about 20 hours of battery life and also the ability to just quickly swap out batteries makes it
UI
The New Playstation UI looks better because its in 4K and the new OS is sleek, but it has some inherent design flaws like multiple steps to put your console to rest.
Even though the xbox is using the same design as the previous xbox, over all its a bit easier to navigate and the xbox has quick resume which is such a killer feature. This allows you to swap between games without reloading them and this even works when you power off the xbox, so i can actually disconnect the xbox carry it to my living room, continue playing without missing a beat.
Xbox really did some killer work with the upgraded os for the Series X, But they really should improve the UI to be 4K HDR to match the PS5, and I’m sure that can come with a software update.
Games and Services
now when it came to the previous generation the PS4 was the clear winner when it came to the games. Playstation has some amazing exclusives which are all playable on the PS5, and if you never had a PS4 i would definitly recommend picking up a PS5 just to get to play some of these amazing exclusives.
But xbox has another killer feature which is just unbeatable in terms of value for money. Xbox game pass can be thought of as the Netflix of gaming and for the price of about 3 games a years you will have access to one of the best selection of first and third party games ever.
Every Microsoft exclusive come out day one on xbox series X and the almost every previous Microsoft game released on any plat form is available. they also recently acquired Bathesda which gives you access to some of the best RPGs and shooters released , not to mention all their future games will probably be exclusive to xbox and PC.
Xbox game pass ultimate lets you also play most of these games on the PC, my brother is a PC gamer and we basically share one Xbox game pass account and it works amazingly well.
Xbox will also automatically upgrade some of your older games giving it HDR using AI and Upscaling and even adding 60 FPS support to older games in your catalogue.
Ps5 supports most PS4 games but with the series X you get access to almost every single previous generation xbox game ever made.
and with new PS5 games coming out at 70USD each I’m more gravitating to check out some new experience on xbox Games pass than spend all that money on the shiny new Ps5 exclusive which i know will be half price in the next few months.
Now the PS5 will be firing on all cylinders in the next few months with the new Rathchet and clank game, Horizon and god of war which will all be day one purchases for me, but if you are a more value conscious buyer, I would go for the Xbox series X.
