In 2011, alongside the release of the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo debuted StreetPass, which was a feature that allowed you to interact and transfer data between other 3DS systems just by walking by them. This was utilised in many different games, from Super Mario 3D Land to Tomodachi Life, but to showcase this feature, Nintendo created an application bundled with every 3DS system called the StreetPass Mii Plaza!
If you met someone through StreetPass, their Mii would greet you on the app and then enter your plaza! But that's not all, they could join you to play several games created by Nintendo and others, such as Goodfeel and Prope. Some of these games even inspired full titles we have today, such as Miitopia, released on the 3DS and remade for the Nintendo Switch! The amount of games in the plaza expanded overtime, and by 2016, you could access a plethora of content just by meeting someone through StreetPass!
In this video, I'll talk about these games and how a lot of them went unnoticed and were even unheard of by many Nintendo fans. I really hope you enjoy!
