In the Spring of 1986, NBC began using these bumpers between all Saturday morning cartoons. These "rollercoaster" transitions were computer animated and took the viewer down a steep curve of a rollercoaster with balloons flying in the distance, and into either one of three objects: a retro looking TV set, a modern clock or a drum kit. After that sequence, a still shot of the cartoon would be shown with an "after these messages" notice. Upon return, only a still card of the cartoon was shown with a "we now return..." message. All of these transitions used the same 5-second instrumental, and as you may have recognized, were voiced by Casey Kasem.

We've included 5 transitions from the 1986 Saturday morning cartoon lineup, covering all 3 versions of the sequence:
0:00 - 0:05 Punky Brewster will return after these messages/TV set
0:05 - 0:09 Punky Brewster: we now return
0:10 - 0:15 Alvin and the Chipmunks will return after these messages/Clock
0:15 - 0:19 Alvin and the Chipmunks: we now return
0:20 - 0:26 Kidd Video will return after these messages/Drum kit
0:27 - 0:30 Kidd Video: we now return
0:31 - 0:37 Mr. T will return after these messages/Drum kit
0:38 - 0:41 Mr. T: we now return
0:43 - 0:49 Spiderman and His Amazing Friends will return after these messages/Drum kit
0:50 - 0:54 Spiderman and His Amazing Friends: we now return
