Toxic Masculinity More Dangerous than Alcohol?

An article recently claimed that science has shown toxic masculinity is more responsible for the oft-touted "1 in 4 women" statistic than alcohol abuse, so obviously, I had to examine the veracity of this claim. Is there something about maleness and masculinity that is more responsible for romantic romps going awry than a mind-altering depressant?
