Hello model railroad friends,
Finally it's ironed on - the pantograph or pantograph is extended and provides "tension" during driving.
In order for this to happen, we first have to repair the overhead line, which is already getting on in years: Closing the gaps in the overhead wire in the visible area of the system, e.g. on the bridge of the double-track main line and also in the area in front of the switches near the station.
In the shadow area or shadow station there are already most of the evasion and guide bars. But here, too, all guides are checked again and readjusted. Two new ones must also be made.
Height adjustment of pantographs:
I don't want the pantos permanently dragging the catenary under full voltage. Especially with new locomotives, a worn hanger is a significant reduction in value for me. So I loosen the brackets a bit - you can see my preferred method in the video.
Test drive with Roco Rh 1044 chess board dummy and DB BR 110 with bib:
I'll show you in many varied shots how the pantographs behave during operation - it's very exciting to watch the working pantograph from the Trainsurfer's perspective.
And the all-important question of whether a pantograph ripped off me is of course also answered :-)
