Conference Realignment is heating up yet again and the Big 12 could capitalize. RC discusses possible dream scenarios for the Big 12 and the most realistic adds from the ACC if the conference were to fall apart

Lay Of The Land for Florida State & The ACC

Florida State's Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Friday to file a lawsuit against the ACC challenging the league's grant of rights and withdrawal penalties, taking a critical first step towards a potential exit. The seven-count suit filed formally in Tallahassee Circuit Court, alleges the ACC breached the contract for failing to create appropriate media rights value and violated the state of Florida's antitrust laws. Moreover, it claims the withdrawal penalty -- a mind-boggling $572 million, $130 million of which comes from TV revenue -- is unenforceable.

Teams The Big 12 Should Target From ACC
I think there is a need to address that the SEC and Big Ten will 100% have interest in some of the schools in the ACC if it does disband.
Florida State: is this likely? No, but Brett Yormark has proven time and time again he is okay with “pushing the envelope” if it’s a calculated risk and worth it for the conference as a whole. Why not see if the Seminoles bite and join the Big 12? It would legitimize the conference that much more in the talent-rich football state of Florida. Once again, it’s not likely at all… but worth a call or two
Miami: I mean this is a no-brainer if you can make it happen. That said much like Florida state it feels unlikely. Also much like Florida State, it would allow you to be even that much more legit in Florida as a conference
Louisville & Pitt: These seem like the closest schools to “most realistic” in this whole exercise. As we all know, there’s no such thing as a lock when discussing conference realignment, but these two schools make a ton of sense. Allows you to secure the rivalry between Pitt and West Virginia and also would allow you to have the “The Keg of Nails” trophy be up for grabs every year with Louisville and Cincinnati.
Clemson: Again, odds are low here due to the fact the SEC or Big Ten likely gives the Tigers an invite, but much like Florida State… Yormark should 100% try to make it happen.
Syracuse: Yormark has mentioned multiple times he wants to get into the northeast with his interest in UConn. Why not get another historically good basketball program in the Orange? The football program could be on the rise, but overall it makes sense for something that Yormark has pushed for at least some earlier in his tenure.
