Following my mother's Chinese New Year tradition to make fresh spring rolls at home called Penang Popiah or Penang Hokkien popiah. This is the first time I am making my Penang popiah at home, after watching how my mother did it last year for Chinese New Year. This is in keeping with my mother's tradition. I even made my own popiah wrapper or spring roll wrapper for the first time since I can't get it fresh here in Melbourne.
