I was due for some more positivity when talking about shin megami tensei and persona. Ever since I did the top 5 SMT games, I’ve been meaning to make a Persona list. I love every entry in this series each for very different reasons, and since there are only 6 I decided to rank every one of them. The games that will be ranked on the list are as follows, Persona 1, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. I will be considering both entries in the persona 2 duology individually as, essentially they can be enjoyed as 2 competent games. By the end we’ll find out which one is the best. Each of these games has had remakes or remasters over the years and as such, both the original and later edition will be taken into account for ranking purposes. For better or for worse the changes to these games can affect your enjoyment of them and I’ll talk about which ones I prefer more. Also for the record I will not include the Q games on the list as I really don’t like them, so just imagine I put both at the bottom. Each of these games has aspects to enjoy, but for the sake of the video we’ll start with my least favorite and work our way up to the best in the series. As celebration for persona 25 and the pc release of the new persona games this video lays all my cards on the table for what I think are the best in the series with a good explanation as to my thoughts on each one. Think of this video as a mini review and intro story summary for each of the persona games. From humble beginnings the persons series flourished into a JRPG monolith and I couldn't be happier at the success it has seen. with shin megami tensei and persona being my favorite series it was only natural to be excited for the 25th anniversary, but I didn't put anything on the channel outside of smt for a long time. In an attempt to diversify my content, this list was needed. Many would be surprised to know I actually prefer the persona series over shin megami tensei as a whole, but both are near and dear to my heart. I understand my list won't be filled with that many hot takes, but as I said this video is more of a persona review for the entire series so I hope my explanations are entertaining. Persona games ranked worst to best is the only title I could think of, but I love these games both as a spinoff of shin megami tensei, and as the standalone series persona.
