FQM deploys use of Artificial Intelligence

By Teverai Dzeka First Quantum Trident Limited and Barrick Lumwana say the use of artificial intelligence in their mining operations has improved efficiency and safety for the two mines and the workers. FQM Trident General Manager JUNIOR KEYSER says the Kalumbila based mine has rid itself of most of the physical security at the mine and instead using AI to provide security. Barrick Lumwana Mine Manager BRIAN KATUKULA says that the idea of AI killing jobs is not true as the technology is creating more jobs at the mine. Mr. KATUKULA also said that AI is making mining easier and less costly.
