"And Stanley Pushed A Button"
"And Stanley Pushed A Button" by Ben Wallace, is a dramatic setting of a scene from "The Stanley Parable" by Galactic Cafe. The piece focuses specifically on 'The Apartment Ending' in which the narrator traps Stanley in "his" apartment and proceeds to explain to him why his life is so terrible. Players will know that in this point in the game, the user is forced to take on Stanley's job and push buttons mindlessly, so here, our piano player Dan Schlosberg plays Stanley pushing random piano keys as prompted by the screen and the singers.
"And Stanley Pushed A Button" was premiered in Sprague Hall at Yale University in April of 2014 as a part of the New Music New Haven series.
