I’d always believed the #Sphinx lion hypothesis because, well, it looks like a lion and #GrahamHancock and Robert Bauval gave us fantastic context with it facing the constellation of Leo in 10,500 BC, whilst John Anthony West and #RobertSchoch even proved geologically that the carved bedrock statue could well be 12,000 years old due to the water erosion on the Sphinx complex. Everything seemed to fit perfectly and history looked all but re-written. But then Robert Temple changed everything and claimed that The Sphinx was actually the Guardian of the Underworld, the Jackal god, #Anubis. Whilst I have believed this idea for a number of years, with greater research, I now believe that The Sphinx actually WAS a lion.
